Product Review for Griffin ClearBoost for iPhone
Thursday, April 3rd, 2008
My iPhone now sports Griffin Technology’s ClearBoost, a protective polycarbonate case with a built-in antenna booster. I was the lucky recipient of a pre-launch product, and I’ve had a couple of days to test it out. If my iPhone could talk, I am sure it would be thanking Griffin for finally providing protection, from me. [...]

What Technology Companies Can Learn From Apple
Wednesday, January 16th, 2008
At Sitening, we’re strictly an Apple shop — we use Macs in every part of our workflow. Several of us yesterday were watching a live feed of Steve Jobs’ Keynote speech with keen interest, “oohing” and “aahing” as the feed was updated with shiny new products. This led me to ponder what we could learn [...]

DriveSavers Now Supports Data Recovery for iPhones
Tuesday, January 15th, 2008
My favorite company for recovering hard drives, DriveSavers, now supports data recovery for the iPhone. I first wrote about DriveSavers back in May, 2006. They did an amazing job recovering my Macintosh hard drive after going through a horrible ordeal with another hard drive recovery company.
In their release, they discussed some of their experience and [...]

Maxed Out New Mac Pro Requires Car Loan
Wednesday, January 9th, 2008
The Apple Store is a fun place to dream. Unfortunately, my orders usually end being the lowest end configuration. For example, if I were to buy the Mac Pro, the lowest price option would be $2,299.00. But what would the price tag be if I allowed myself to dream a little? I configured the new [...]

How to Install iPhone Firmware 1.1.2 on iTunes
Friday, November 9th, 2007
Apple made their iPhone firmware update available to the public before making it available via iTunes. The file itself weighs in at 160MB and can be downloaded here: iPhone Firmware 1.1.2
The only problem has been the lack of information on how to install the giant file. Although many people have linked to the file, a [...]

16 Coolest New Features In Mac OS X 10.5 That You Didn’t Know About
Tuesday, October 16th, 2007
By now, everyone has heard about the major new features in Apple’s new operating system, Mac OS X 10.5 — code-named Leopard. However, there are several little known new features that are actually quite cool. I’ve compiled a list the sixteen coolest little known new features of Mac OS X 10.5.
1. OpenDocument and Word 2007 [...]

Is This Apple’s Internal Lorem Ipsum?
Tuesday, October 16th, 2007
Apple announced the release date for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) this morning. I was browsing through the technology overview page and came across this strange description for Bonjour:
“Holisticly provide access to ethical communities vis-a-vis client-focused.”
Seriously? That can’t be real. This has to be some strange, internal lorem ipsum. Right? If it is, it’s the [...]

New Evidence of an Apple iPhone SDK
Friday, October 5th, 2007
This afternoon I received an announcement from the Apple Developer Connection announcing their upcoming Performance Tuning workshops. These intensive developer camps aren’t unusual - Apple hosted iPhone web development seminars this summer. However, the description for this one caught my eye. It read (emphasis mine):
These 3-day workshops are designed to provide you with the tools [...]

iPhone Owners Feeling Sore About Apple’s Price Drop Should “Share Their Story”
Thursday, September 6th, 2007
Yesterday, Apple announced an immediate and significant price reduction for the iPhone — down from $599 to $399. Normally, a price reduction like this would be good news, but not if you were an early adopter who purchased the phone within the last two months. In fact, that’s the rub. The iPhone has only been [...]

iPhone + AT&T = Dead Trees & Giant Fees
Monday, August 13th, 2007
The first invoices for the iPhone have been delivered, and one thing is for certain, AT&T loves paper!
For most iPhone customers, the only thing they’re concerned about (if anything) is the call and text log. “Who did I call, who called me and did I go over my minutes?” As expected, the invoices included that [...]
